Minors In Possession Program (MIP)

All instructors have been certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services and follow all rules and guidelines required of the certification.


Texas Minors In Possession Program (MIP)

Individual minors with an offense of an alcohol or drug conviction must take this course in order to comply with the requirements of the Courts or Community Supervision and Corrections Department and with the Texas Department of Public Safety. This program is a 6 hour course. Classes are taught in three hour sessions, two nights per week. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be issued a Texas MIP Education Program certificate of completion. You must mail a copy of the certificate to the Department of Public Safety for the benefit of being in compliance in regards to your Texas State Driver's License status, if this applies. The MIP class must have a minimum of five students to hold a class and have no more than 25 students in a class.

You must bring the following items on the first day of class:

  • On the first day of class, arrive 30 minutes early for registration
  • Texas Driver's License or social security number
  • Name and address of the Judge who ordered the class
  • A fee of $65 Money order or cash
  • A pen to write with
